Some tips before you send us your CV…

When sending your CV to a recruitment company like Worth Recruiting, it is important to use a format that is easy to read and scan. This will help the recruiter to quickly identify your skills and experience.

In our case, we are generally looking for candidates who have previous experience in the property or financial services industries, so make sure that any references to these experiences really stands out.

Here are some tips for formatting your CV:

  • Use a clear and concise font. Arial, Calibri, and Times New Roman are all good choices.

  • Use a font size of 10-12 points.

  • Use bullet points to highlight your key skills and experience.

  • Keep your CV to one or two pages maximum!

  • Use a professional email address.

  • Proofread your CV carefully before sending it and use a spelling checker

Here is an example of a good CV format:

  • Contact Information (include your email address, phone number and where you live or will be living)

  • Summary (who you are and what you are looking for)

  • Work Experience (your previous employers, particularly those in the property industry, your dates of employment and BRIEF details about your roles)

  • Education (and any property or finance industry qualifications you may have like ARLA, RICS, IRPM or CeMAP)

  • Skills (including any relevant software that you have worked with like Reapit, Jupix, Alto, AgentPro or Cube)

  • References

 Additional Tips:

  • Tailor your CV to the specific job you are applying for.

  • Use keywords from the job description in your CV.

  • Quantify your achievements whenever possible.

  • Use action verbs to describe your skills and experience.

  • Get someone to proofread your CV before you send it.

By following these tips, you can ensure that your CV is in the best possible format to send to a recruitment company.

Additional Tips for Sending Your CV to a Recruitment Company:

  • Keep the format simple (a recruiter will normally process your CV through their own software so avoid boxes and tables)

  • Send your CV as a Word Doc or PDF file. This will mean that the recruiter can work with your CV more promptly

  • Write an engaging summary. Your cover letter should be tailored to the specific job you are applying for.

  • Keep your CV concise (and remember to check your spelling!)

  • Follow up with the recruiter after you have sent your CV. This will show that you are interested in the position.

By following these tips, you can increase your chances of getting your CV noticed by a recruiter.
